A pair of ash weeding clips, or thistle-pullers, of a form largely associated with County Antrim.
This particular example has achieved a warm nutty colour. The ribbed jaws, similarly, have gained a tactile, attractive patina.
Such workaday tools are now seldom seen outside of museum collections.
Original surface with scant flight holes and minor paint splodges present. Nut and washer historically replaced.
Irish, second half of the 19th century.
