A pretty little box that probably started life as a tea caddy and was later converted.
Veneered in choice satinwood, the lid and front are crossbanded in tulipwood enclosed by ebony and boxwood stringing with an outer trim of rosewood. A tulipwood escutcheon is present however the lock is no longer functioning.
One marvels at the hand that crafted such a refined and beautiful object – it survives as testament to their skill.
The surface is lustrous and it’s altogether lovely to handle being perfectly usable with its lined interior.
