An 18th century tea caddy veneered in padauk atop an oak carcass.

The cavetto and ovolo moulded lid has a cock-bead running around its rim and also retains its original brass carrying handle.

The original batwing escutcheon remains in place making a real statement to the otherwise plain rectangular body.

The surface is a real joy to behold and handle – the perfect combination of grime and lustre.

Some historic losses and wear commensurate with age.

English, circa 1750.
